2005 Toyota Tacoma

The 2005 Toyota Tacoma has once again improved on its previous model, and offers a few great new options. Toyota trucks have been around since 1964, with the Tacoma being introduced in 1995. Like its predecessor, the 2005 Tacoma comes in 3 body styles; the standard cab, the extended cab and the crew cab. The Tacoma also comes with 2 or 4 wheel drive, automatic or manual transmission and a choice of a 4 or 6 cylinder engine.

One of the best new features of the 2005 Toyota Tacoma is the long bed option, which is actually a substantial bed at 73 ½ inches long. This bed is only available on the crew cab model; and with this bed option, the towing capacity has jumped from 3500 to 6500 pounds, when the optional SR5 No. 8 tow package is added. This 2005 Toyota Tacoma model is only available with the V6 engine.

Some other new features on the 2005 Toyota Tacoma regular cab, that were extra on prior models of the vehicle, and are now standard features are anti-lock brakes , CD player and multiple power points. The interior of the regular cab is far more roomy and comfortable this year, not at all like most compact trucks. These new standard features gives the 2005 Toyota Tacoma a head start over other compact trucks because of recent renewed consumer interest in smaller, more economical pick-ups.

The 2005 Toyota Tacoma 6 cylinder engine has increased power over last year, moving from 3.4 liters to a 4.0 liter engine. Also added this year on all Toyota Tacoma 2005 models with automatic transmissions is optional Hill-start Assist and Downhill Assist Control. Another great addition to the Tacoma is the composite cargo bed with storage units and tie down anchors as standard features. There is also the option to add a 400 watt electrical outlet to the bed. Every cab model of the 2005 Toyota Tacoma has been redesigned for more interior space and safety. The crew cab now offers optional front seat side airbags and full size head curtain airbags and comes standard with the rear doors opening wider and a full size redesign on the back seats, giving far more room for adult passengers.

The 2005 Toyota Tacoma handles and drives like a dream, clinging to the road tightly on turns, thanks to the stability control system. The performance suspension, additional structural bracing and new upgraded tires enhance the driving experience, contributing to the overall handling and road stability. While the 4 cylinder engine is adequate on the smaller models, the new 6 cylinder has power and performance to spare, providing more horse power than any previous model. Quick take-offs and improved acceleration, add to the driving enjoyment. Stopping power is better than ever with electronic break force distribution and brake assist on the anti-lock brake system, now a standard feature.

The 2005 Toyota Tacoma has some great upgrades this year, some new design angles and some new features that send this truck to the head of its class.
