The New 2004 Toyota Camry Exceeds Expectations
The 2004 Toyota Camry mid-size sedan is a family friendly, comfortable automobile with a reputation for reliability and safety. Although not a luxury car, there are many luxury options available and Camry 2004 enjoys a high resale value compared to other cars in its class. The mid-year model of the 2004 Toyota Camry was offered at a lower base price making it a news worthy addition to the year’s line-up.
The 2004 Toyota Camry has an upgraded V6 engine; while not as powerful as some comparable vehicles, it does provide more power than the previous year’s model. The V6 engine for the 2004 Camry SE V6 is now a 3.3 liter instead of the former 3.0 liter, with 33 more horsepower under the hood. Toyota has also boosted the 3.0’s horsepower for the LE and XLE models that still come equipped with this engine. Both come with a new version of the standard 5-speed automatic transmissions. The Camry 4 cylinder engine is still available, and comes with either manual or automatic 4-speed transmission. All new models retain their front wheel drive for excellent maneuverability.
The options available on the 2004 Toyota Camry V6 include: front side air bags, head curtain air bags, an anti-skid system, ABS and a navigation system with touch screen controls. Options for the 4 cylinder are wood grain interior trim and unique new exterior trim. The basic body design of the Camry is basically the same as the ES 330 Lexus, also a Toyota product. A limited edition 2004 Toyota Camry is also on offer, with a unique front grill, fog lamps and a crystal white and champagne duo- color exterior.
Some of the interior features of the Toyota Camry 2004 are a tachometer, external temperature display, cruise control, power steering, air conditioning and air filtration systems, tilt wheel, rear window defogger, remote power door locks, power mirrors and power windows, as well as upper and lower consoles, with built-in storage. Standard CD player and AM/FM radio, child safety locks, auto delay headlights and daytime running lights are also included. The interior of the 2004 Toyota Camry is quite roomy for adults, an adjustable height driver’s seat with power lumbar support makes for a very comfortable driving position. Front bucket seats with cloth covers and plenty of leg, head, shoulder and hip room are standard on the Camry. The rear seats also have quite a lot of passenger accommodation room, and the rear seat backs are split-fold designed to add additional cargo space to the trunk. Adjustable head rests on all seats, front and back contribute to the overall comfort factor of the 2004 Toyota Camry.
Compared to other mid-size, family oriented sedans, the Camry exceeds most expectations for comfort, luxury features, safety and drive power. As with past models, the 2004 gets superb gas mileage at 21 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. With its well-deserved reputation for quality, reliability and durability; the 2004 Toyota Camry is a great automobile value in today’s economy.
