2004 Ford Focus

The 2004 Ford Focus is not your standard 4-cylinder economy car. Since 2001 the Focus has sported European design and handling, quickly leaving its nearest competition in the dirt, the Ford Escort, to become the most popular Ford passenger car.

The 2004 Ford Focus is available in several 4-cylinder engine choices that all use regular gasoline: the 2.0 liter which comes in 110 hp, 130 hp and 170 hp and the 2.3 liter 145 hp engine. The transmission choices are 5 or 6-speed manual and 4-speed automatic, all of which include overdrive settings.

The euro style body of the 2004 Ford Focus is available in 2 or 4 door sedans: the 2 door ZX3, the 4 door ZX5 hatchback, a 4 door station wagon, or the SVT which is a sportier model of the Focus 2004 that holds great appeal for the younger car enthusiast.

The interior of the 2004 Ford Focus has been redesigned with taller seats, extra front seat head room, and larger door openings for taller and older consumers. It has enough room inside to seat 5 people comfortably. The backseats of the 2004 Focus fold down to create additional cargo space. Extra-long side glass has been incorporated to improve visibility and larger instrumentation controls are easier to see.

The handling and maneuverability of the front wheel drive 2004 Ford Focus is exceptional. The Focus has fast acceleration and plenty of get up for quick spurts of speed, or merging on highways. The Ford Focus 2004 is fun to drive and the ride is quite smooth over bumps for a car of its size.

The 2004 Ford Focus SVT is the high performance version of this car. This model was created specifically to appeal to the buyers that would normally prefer the sporty imports. This 2004 Ford Focus is equipped with the 170 hp 2.0 liter engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. Available in 2 and 4 door hatchbacks, this body style is unique. Front and rear fascia, honeycomb grilles, special moldings on the rocker panels, spoke wheels with 17 inch tires, and even a spoiler on the back are standard. The interior is a serious upgrade from the other 2004 Ford Focus models, with black leather trim around cloth inset seats with extra padding, leather covered steering wheel and gearshift lever, and electroluminescent gauges. Side impact airbags and anti-lock brakes are standard on this model. An upgraded stereo system and a power sunroof are available optional accessories. For those who like the souped up car image, Ford Racing Performance Parts is now offering aftermarket parts for the 2004 Ford Focus SVT. You can order competition gauges and supercharger kits, among other items, and even have them installed at the Ford dealership. Expensive? Yes. But, it’s all a matter of what you want and what you afford.

All in all, the 2004 Ford Focus pretty much beats the competition hands down with this year’s model. The Focus offers such a large variety of options, both standard and optional, to choose from that there is bound to be one model to suit most anyone.
